What is Somatic Experiencing (SE)?
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a gentle, body-oriented therapeutic approach designed to help regulate the autonomic nervous system and support deep healing from trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. Rather than relying primarily on traditional "top-down" talk therapy that focuses on analyzing past experiences, SE utilizes a "bottom-up" method. By working directly with your physical sensations and nervous system responses, SE helps to safely release trapped survival energy, ultimately restoring a greater sense of safety, balance, and resilience within your body.
How We Work Together
Sessions are highly individualized and guided at a slow, supportive pace using a core SE principle called titration—meaning we approach difficult sensations in very small, manageable doses to prevent your nervous system from becoming overwhelmed. Because SE focuses on how your body processed the event rather than the story of the event itself, you can safely renegotiate your trauma without being required to recount or relive difficult experiences.

Session Style: In Person and Online
Duration: SE Sessions are 50 minutes in length.
Intake: Prior to beginning our work together, clients are asked to complete an intake form. This helps ensure a clear understanding of your unique needs and healing goals before our first session.
